Hey guys, can the cyclone intake manifold be put on a car with a/c? The manifold i am talking about is the one from the 240hp car that dont say cyclone on it but is still a dual runner design. I've been told it hits the a/c pump, is there anyway I can get this thing installed without having to get rid of my a/c? Also to have the butterflies properly controlled do i need a jdm ecu??

cyclone intake manifold

Im pretty sure the manifold wont hit the ac compressor. extreme turbo said that all you had to do was switch ac compressor mounts from the stock motor to the cyclone motor if it hits. My friends and i did a cyclone swap a couple of weeks ago, but we didnt put the ac compressor back in..... about the ecu im not sure if the jdm opens the second butterflies, but it was a big power difference (better) compared to the stock ecu.

On my car, the mounts for the A/C had to be reworked (extended) and the manifold was ground down a little bit so it could fit in.

I THINK there were butterflies controlled by the ECU, but I know mine is via vacuum. On the driver side of the intake, is there a vacuum valve ?

Re: Cyclone Intake HELP!

I installed a cyclone on my 1st gen and it does not hit the a/c compressor. The only problem you have to deal with is all of the vac lines for the evap emissions control system on the bracket, they are not able to fit and flow up through the same path, you have to redo the lines in a different fashion out of the way cause the manifold bracket does not allow for enough space

Re: Cyclone Intake HELP!

DSMchips.com (keydiver) has a chip modification that will run the cyclone for you.

Re: Cyclone Intake HELP!

DSMlink's nitrous control's also work pretty damn good.

I have one too.
No AC tho.

What parameters does dsmchips use to drive the cyclone?
(just curious)
